Aftermath.

Graduation was yesterday, I've already moved out and am actually posting from the house I share with Emily.  And eating a slushie from the machine that Emily has.  I love this thing and I'm going to make so many this summer. I'm experimenting with alcohol flavors too.  I've already registered for my classes for the fall, and I'm taking some basic credits to get those over with before I start moving into something I actually want to do. It's my first year of college, no reason to attack classes, right?

Emily, have you considered getting a pet? I mean...a real one.

Finals

I'm pretty jealous of a lot of my friends back in NYC. They get to take their final exams this month and then be done with school before May is out. Sort of a bummer here I guess, we're stuck here till June something and then we have graduation. It's not too bad I guess, but still, it'd be nice to get out before June rather than halfway. Can't win'm all. I think we're getting a better education here anyway.

I was looking at Dartmouth's academic calendar for 2009-2010. Looks like I'm going to classes toward the end of September. Not bad, so I guess even pushing into June for school, I don't have to start classes till later than you guys here, and my semester is going to end beginning of December.

News news.

I know not too many people here read the newspaper, even online, but a friend of mine sent me a link to the news article in the New York Times about that DC senator that's all Anti-Psychics.  I never really understood the reasoning behind the dislike, it's not like we can make ourselves not-psychic or something.  But it's to be expected. There are always differing views and I guess from a certain angle, he has a point because it isn't like everyone with psychic abilities is a saint.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. And hope we have people on our side.  But things like this take time, change takes time, and I don't think we're going to have a quick fix anytime soon.  Which is sad, but that's what happens with democracy. For the people, by the people, and it takes awhile to get people going in the right direction.

Girls are crazy.

I've heard at least fifteen girls on my way from the cafeteria to my room talk about the FBI guy being hot. Every week it's someone new, isn't it? Every time they do that, I feel like I should start talking about hot girls, but they'll just call me a 'pig'. Why is that? Girls talk about guys like they're a piece of meat and it's okay for them. Girls are confusing as hell.

Going going gone.

I told my dad to take the car back. V6 engine is nice, but the last thing I want is throwing cash into the tank when I don't want to.  So I need a car, preferably a cheaper model, maybe a used one.  Something that's easy to fix too, cheaper to repair...which means American made.

How old do you have to be to bid in a car auction in the state of NH? Anyone?

Happy Birthday to me.

What's a great way to ring in the New Year and celebrate your birthday?  A party at your friend's loft in New York City.

A bad way?  At the party you see the ball explode and your cell phone goes off with some weird message from something called Stargate.

It was insane.  I was almost worried there'd be a riot because the people were scattering in every direction.  It was one of the craziest things I've ever seen in my life and freakiest.  And when the stuff with the psychics started happening, a few of my friends gave me some weird looks, but no one told me to leave or anything.

I'm going to be flying back tomorrow.  I'll be glad to get away from here for another year.

Home for Christmas.

Flying out on Monday to my dad's for Christmas, and possibly might stay through the New Year. He hasn't decided yet, but I spent last year there for New Year's and hung out with friends watching the ball drop in Time Square.  It was a lot of fun.  But yeah, Monday morning I go and I suspect it'll be an okay vacation.  I'd rather stick around here but most of my friends are going home anyway, so what's the point in staying?

Anyway, happy holidays, folks.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

Yeah, I bought it. Only because I heard that some stories other than 'The Tale of Three Brothers' give interesting insight to the actual Harry Potter books. They were a fun read and I was surprised how well connected and how much foreshadowing was actually in them. Haven't watched the movies, but for what the books are, they were a fun read.

I'm probably going to start reading a little bit tonight. Kids book, sure, but I can be easily amused by things like that.

Still can't believe that Crichton died. Sad stuff.

Other plans.

Yeah, we had the Halloween dance. Are there any plans to get off campus tonight that don't involve trick-or-treating?  I'm all for watching movies, but it's Halloween.

We gotta do something.

Weeks.

Almost November.  Yeah, I know Halloween is this week, but I don't really have plans. for it.  November means Thanksgiving, and then comes December.  2008 is almost done, and while a bunch of good has happened recently, I'm more than anxious to put the rest of the year behind.  Graduation comes spring. That's pretty intense and it suddenly seems sooner than it should.

I found out they made a third Starship Troopers movie.  I didn't even know they made a second one.  Why, Hollywood...why?

Confused.

Someone explain to me what is so great about a tractor?  I mean, why do people glorify John Deere so much? It's a tractor and it's green. Congrats.

Sure glad I don't have Math on Fridays. :)

Here we go

So the week's been a bit better. Going tree climbing proved to be more fun than I thought it was going to be. School is okay so far, not too bad though I'm not exactly thrilled about reading Conrad. But I think a majority of the senior class is with me on that. Isaiah, I still can't believe you were bored enough to actually read it willingly. You're an amazing person.

This week is improving slightly.

This week

This week sucks.

Period.

Emily, I'm sorry.  I don't think I could ever say I was sorry enough.  Please talk to me.

Awesome things

This past weekend I went hiking, and it was awesome.  I love hiking, going outdoors and getting some fresh air.  It'll be nicer later on this fall, with all the leaves changing color.

I get to go on a helicopter ride. How awesome is that?

Aug. 7th, 2008

Wow.

You think you know someone and it turns out they're completely different than you thought.

Aug. 5th, 2008

Strangeness.

I went to go buy some Chex Mix today and some girl stopped me and said I could pull off a convincing vampire.

I'm not sure if I should be complimented by that statement or not.

Jul. 19th, 2008

Wth?

There was rancid mayo in the fridge. Wtf?

I thought it was clam chowder. Good thing I didn't actually try to eat it.

Bored

So I managed to miss the soft ball game yesterday. Sucks. Are we going to play again? If so, when? Or are you guys going to try something new?

My skin is looking paler than usual from being inside. This is bad.

Bored

I'm starting to think it's possible for someone to die of boredom.

I'll make sure the invitations for my funeral get out in time.
